Years In Review! A Look Back & what the future holds!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]In planting my seeds for 2022, I’m looking back at the last 2 years and feeling a sense of relief.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]When I look back and think about all the challenges we have all been through, how we managed to forge through and how so much, yet so little has changed[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]It was March of 2020 when the news of this really infectious virus enveloped the entire world. It was surreal at first. I remember thinking at the time how we see crazy things like this in 3rd world Countries, NOT the United States.

It was in the US though as well as every other Country on earth.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1534802218178{margin-top: 50px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”24″ img_size=”500×500″ alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” css_animation=”none”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]So much occurred during 2020

  • We were losing loved ones by the minute
  • Hospitals were overwhelmed
  • Businesses were in lock down
  • Families couldn’t celebrate Holidays together
  • Weddings were postponed
  • Impromptu weddings were the rage
  • Daily news reports were COVID COVID COVID
  • Cleaning & Disinfection products made their debut
  • Store shelves were either low or empty
  • Toilet paper became scarce
  • We left our groceries outside for 20 minutes as to not bring the virus in our homes
  • We washed our groceries
  • We were introduced to masks
  • Businesses closed permanently
  • Home offices became popular
  • Many people loss their jobs
  • Indoor dining was eliminated
  • The news media became the opinion media

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1534802218178{margin-top: 50px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]To say, we were a bit under stress…would be an under statement.

For us here at Centre For Beauty, 2020 was not only surreal, it was a blur. We were one of the fortunate few who not only survived 2020, we flourished.

On a typical month we may average 50-75 new clients (short of amazing in itself). During the first 2-3 months of Covid (April, May, June) our new client based increased upward of 297 per month.

Why?

Centre For Beauty has been focused on Foot Care since it’s inception. With this, comes the responsibility of making sure we promote safe pedicuring. Safe pedicuring includes (yet not limited too) proper cleaning, disinfection and sterilization.

Therefore, we have always been promoting gloves, cleaning products, disinfection products, sterilization products, safe tools and equipment to not only make your job easier, make your processes the best and the safest they can be.

I haven’t shared this news publicly because I know of so many people and/or Business who didn’t survive this crisis. So why now?

I chose to talk about this in my blog for a couple of reasons;

  1. To recognize some pretty remarkable things I noticed through 2020 and beyond
  2. To bring awareness back to a very very important topic
  3. To share with you what our first class of 2022 will be

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]I have been in Business for a very long time. Since 1987 actually. I’ve been blessed to meet people from all different facets of Business. I’ve put myself in network groups, the Political arena, Community events, Business events and more. I’ve attended Educational classes my entire career and continue to read, attend and learn anything and everything about Business. To say I’m fascinated by it, would be an understatement.

I respect the mind. I respect knowledge and more so, I respect how people use it.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]With all the stories I’ve heard through Covid, I have to give a shout out to my very own room mate…Life of Riley Salon Supply.

I saw and heard the daily struggles a larger Business with several employees went through. The challenges of keeping your Business alive and keeping your Employees employed.

I saw how the owner kept nothing back from his employees nor his client. He kept them informed and educated them about options available for Business owners and employees. He was the calm during the storm.

There is so much more to this story however, my point is it takes Education, Knowledge, Experience, Integrity and selflessness to do what he did. Running a Business is a talent.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]My Business during Covid as I said earlier, was thriving. What concerns me however, which is what I want to bring awareness too, where are all the Salons who took courses on proper sanitation? Where are all the Customers who were so concerned about making sure they were following proper sanitation procedures and better yet, going over and above.

We typically have a very good retention rate. Not through 2020. I could go through the reasons why I suspect;

  • Out of Business
  • Found other products
  • RESORTED BACK TO OLD HABITS

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]The latter is my concern. I see it, I hear it….most have forgotten the importance of Salon Safety in Cleaning, Disinfection and Sterilization procedures. The threat is gone (so you think) therefore, it’s not on the forefront anymore. This is so very very sad.

The threat of infection will always exist in our Salons. It may not be specific to Covid, yet it will always be there. Fungi, Mold, Bacterium, Blood born pathogens….the list goes on and on.

In addition, so many (too many) Technicians are working out of the limits of their license and Pedicuring clients they should be referring to a Medical Professional.  NOW is NOT the time to STOP proper sanitizing procedures.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]Centre For Beauty has been working throughout 2021 to produce an in-salon manual covering Cleaning, Disinfection and Sterilization.  The launch of our CDS class is scheduled for January 24th, 2022.

I have personally worked with an infectious disease graduate to obtain specific information related to “us”. Information you need to know when working in a Salon. I’ve always been frustrated by courses which give too much information. Information which may be good for a Medical Professional yet, not relative to Salon environments.

Our class will cover amazing, valuable information related specifically to diseases we might encounter in our Salons. Words, terminology, how it relates to us. It will cover myths. It will cover factual information to educate you so you can educate your clients. It will cover specific details on cleaning, disinfection and sterilization pursuant to the rules and regulations required by our States. It will inform you on how safe practices, cost effective practices and time savings practices will place you on the top of your game.
