In a world where headlines are filled with chaos, competition, and negativity, it’s easy to get caught up in the noise. As professionals in the beauty industry, we see the effects every day — clients walking through our doors burdened by stress, worry, and uncertainty.

What if we made it our mission, even just for one day, to find the good news?


It’s There — If You Look for It

The “good news” isn’t always splashed across social media or broadcast on the evening report.  Can’t believe any of them anyway.  Sometimes, it’s found in small, quiet moments — a client who finally feels comfortable showing their feet again, a team member mastering a new skill, or a message from someone who says, “I love my feet, sa’SHá is amazing”.

In our industry, good news isn’t just a story. It’s a ripple. Every act of care, every lesson taught, every service provided with intention sends positivity outward. We don’t just change appearances — we change perspectives…we change lives.  We have the privilege of seeing those small victories up close. And when we take a moment to notice them, we realize — good news isn’t missing. It’s just waiting to be recognized.


Reframing Our Focus

As business owners, educators, and service providers, it’s natural to focus on what’s wrong — declining sales, cancellations, product shortages, or mostly burnout. Yet focusing only on what’s broken blinds us to what’s blooming.

Finding the good news doesn’t mean ignoring reality. It means reframing it.

  • Instead of “business is slow,” — “I have time to improve my systems.”

  • Instead of “people aren’t spending,” — “clients are valuing meaningful experiences.”

  • Instead of “things have changed,” — “I’m learning to adapt — and that’s strength.”

We need more creators of light — people who see the positive, even in the cracks.


Choosing Positivity as a Practice

Just like you teach your clients to care for their skin or nails, positivity requires maintenance. It’s a practice — one that begins the moment we decide to seek it. Whether it’s sharing a success story in your salon meeting, spotlighting a client’s transformation, or simply starting your day with gratitude, you can choose to find and spread the good news. (That’s my mantra)

When you do, and keep doing you’ll find your environment changes  as does everyone around you. Your team feels it. Your clients feel it. And most importantly — you feel it.

In fact, you will get to the point where you just never go back.  You find the good in everything and everyone. It’s something we cultivate


Be the Good News

We can’t always control what’s happening in the world, but we can control the energy we bring to it. As professionals who touch lives (literally and figuratively), we are in a unique position to remind people that kindness, growth, and beauty still exist — and they’re worth celebrating.

Stop posting or re-posting your negative thoughts on social media.  Stop complaining.  Be an optimist not a pessimist.

Find the good news. Share it. Live it.
Because when you do, you’ll inspire others to do the same and this WILL make the world a better place.
