I’ve said many times before, “inspiration can come from anywhere”
If you know me, you will know Sunday mornings with my coffee and local newspaper is my absolute BEST time of the week. My husband, for the most part, is attentive to these fews moments of “silence” I actually give myself.
I just love being cuddled in my chair. My dog, my blanket, my coffee, my newspaper. Haven’t brushed my teeth, taken a shower, combed my hair or washed my face. I even leave my phone alone. It’s pure peace
It’s the only time I read a paper, cover to cover, every little detail. I can read and focus on what is of interest to me, or I can skip it. It’s my choice.
Then there are the ones that you don’t stop to read, yet somehow you see the whole thing as clear as day in your mind.
The one that made me start thinking today is an advertisement for a window Company. I didn’t read the ad, I skipped over it. Yet, the title of this blog, came from that ad.
How one(1) split second can inspire you.
That one(1) second to make such an amazing impact.
As I thought about that being my article today, I thought…my gosh…there are so many.
- 10 reasons for someone to do Business with you
- 10 reasons someone would NOT do Business with you
- 10 reasons you have to go to work everyday.
- 10 reasons…….the list goes on!
So I started to think about it and thought during these difficult times would be the perfect time to make your list. Make a list of 10 reasons your clients should go to your Salon and then keep constantly tweaking it.
Let’s just say one of your reasons is; Location
You are located in the happening downtime area, convenient to all four corners of your County.
Now we tweak. Instead of saying “location”, we saying something like;
Nestled between Neiman Marcus and the ATT store on Edge Drive in Dunedin, Fl
We have to have a baseline and then we continue to build off the base.
Another reason a list is good…as Entrepreneurs, Small Business Owners….call us whatever you want. We are all the same. We work for ourselves and therefore, we have to hold ourselves accountable.
Having a list will help you do that.Let’s say on our list is “100% guarantee” for 48 hr period after service.
If that is something you put in writing, on your website, in all your Marketing….you best adhere to it. You don’t try to put the blame on your client because you know she caught her nail on fire and filed it down. It’s your guarantee…..own it.
Then when you look at it again, you might tweak it to say, “guaranteed for 48 hrs, no questions asked”!
You will get to the point where you just know you can’t come up with another creation. That’s normal.
However, what is not normal, what takes and art to acquire, is the ability to see within the box, not what’s outside the box.
The deepest of deep thoughts, desires, and needs.
So when you think you have gotten to “wits” end. Dig deep and keep growing for a better future.
Centre For Beauty has always had a list. Not on paper, however certainly embedded in my mind.
It has always been my thought, the thoughts I always think is a curse. Then,after seeing that article it made me think about what I do and helped me to realize I am constantly changing, modifying, adapting to my list. Depending on the state of mind I am in. It’s just routine

As you can see by this list, as the owner, I hold myself yo some very high standards. I guess I just follow one of the Ten Commandments…“Do unto others as you would do unto yourself”>
If I deserve the best then you should deserve the best as well. We pay it forward.
If you don’t have a list – make one.
If you do have a list, re-evaluate it. Don’t get stagnant, don’t get complacent.
As we learned in 2020. Our lives can change in an instant. Do your best today, as there is no guarantee for tomorrow.
