Many of you know my deep passion in teaching Oncology Care in the Pedicure room, driven by a commitment to elevate the standards of care for clients undergoing cancer treatment.
With over 35 years in this Beauty Industry, I understand the importance of a gentle, knowledgeable approach when dealing with the sensitive needs of oncology clients.
My passion also stems from a desire to empower Nail Technicians with the education and skills required to provide safe and effective pedicures for those affected by cancer.
I believe by educating Beauty Professionals on the nuances of oncology care….we learn how to recognize;
- contraindications
- compromised skin and nails
- Offering of compassionate service
- how to create a safer, more inclusive environment for clients who need it the most
I can also emphasize the significance of proper sanitation, product selection and tailored techniques which prioritize the well-being and comfort of oncology care clients.

With that being said, I recently formed a meaningful partnership with HairToStay, a non profit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients afford scalp cooling treatments that can reduce hair loss during chemotherapy.
This collaboration aligns perfectly with my mission to support individuals undergoing cancer treatment by providing specialized care and education.
I want to promote awareness about HairToStay’s impactful programs. I will integrate HTS’s organization’s mission into my classes and outreach efforts, emphasizing the importance of preserving dignity and self-esteem for those battling cancer.
I want to empower our Nail Technicians to understand the options available during challenging times, so you can then share those options with your clients.
I am committed to enhancing the overall experience for oncology care clients by combining my expertise in specialized foot care with HTS’s dedication to minimizing the emotional toll of hair loss.
In an effort to support HTS and to raise awareness about scalp cooling treatments that help reduce hair loss for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, I will personally do the COLD CAP CHALLENGE and encourage all of you (some by name) to participate.
The cold cap challenge encourages participants to experience the discomfort of wearing a cold cap, mimicking what cancer patients go through in an attempt to preserve their hair during treatments.
My COLD CAP CHALLENGE will be wearing shorts and shirt over my bathing suit and my husband will dump a gallon of cold water over my head which has been sitting in a cold refrigerator for days.
I will share my journey through videos, photos and social media.
I hope to raise awareness and monies to provide funds to HTS which in turn provides financial assistance for a cancer client who cannot afford scalp cooling treatments, such as cold capping.
I hope to inspire my network of friends, family and clients to join me in supporting HairToStay and making a difference in the lives of cancer patients. Will YOU do the COLD CAP CHALLENGE?

As a cancer thrive for the last 34 years, I experienced her loss in 1990 and have continued with three mastectomies and bone cancer as of 2015 forward… That being said I still have not found the information for scalp cooling within the medical realm which is why I am so delighted to meet you thank you thank you thank you
