ONCOLOGY CARE

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I recently began reminiscing about 2019 when I began my journey of introducing Oncology Care in the Pedicure room.  I was excited to learn and share knowledge on this very important topic .[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]2020 I had 10 classes scheduled through December. All of which were initially postponed and then canceled due to Covid.

It saddens me on so many levels.

#1 – this information NEEDS to be shared

#2- the emotional journey we shared in these classes has no description

#3- sharing 3 days with talented, inspirational Technicians, feeds my soul[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]As I prepare some upcoming dates for zoom classes, (my pivot during Covid 2020) I’m constantly thinking of ways to improve. How can I present this class with a computer screen between us and not only let it have the same affect as in class, how can I get across to our Technicians just how important this class is?[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1534802218178{margin-top: 50px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]With the recent events of the new strain of Covid, the increases in Covid numbers and how many stories I have heard including the good, bad and the ugly, I have come to realize this class on Oncology care in the Pedicure may have been developed for the Cancer client…so much of the information we learn is also relative to our current situation with Covid.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1534802238716{margin-top: 50px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text]Yes, our first day of this course is intense learning on the history of Cancer. How far back in our history we know of it as being a recognized disease. The Who, the how, the why. The treatments, the advancements. The types, the cures….if any. However, day two and three are directly related to our everyday lives in our Salons, our treatment rooms.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]We teach Mind, Body & Spirit in relation to Cancer yet, as I’m reading through the materials it is also very relative to our Covid lives.

We teach Salon sanitizing which is so important in relation to Cancer yet, it is so relative to our Covid lives.

We teach Salon modifications in relation to Cancer yet, it is so relative to our Covid lives.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]Information is knowledge, knowledge is power. How we use the information we learn is truly all relative to how we wish to apply it. How we wish to share it.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]I recently travelled to MN for Salon trainings. One of these Salons has 3 locations with over 100 Technicians and Stylist combined….in just 1 location.

As I walked through to the training area, I felt like I was in a “clean zone”. The location besides being absolutely stunning, was impeccably clean. In the Nail area they had six(6) ultrasonic cleaners set up for their tools/implements. Their disinfection area was well organized and the entire area was free of spillage, free of dust, free of debris….in short it was extremely neat and clean.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]I have been in much smaller and even single suite locations which were NOT as sterile as this. It was truly amazing. What a blessing they are to their clients, especially during these germaphobic times.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]So as I begin to schedule dates for our Oncology care in the pedicure room class, I encourage you to think about participating. YES, it’s an investment. Both with time and monies. YES, it’s intense. YES, it’s an emotional journey. However, it is also necessary. It is necessary because I think we all realize COVID is not going away anytime soon. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]Our practice of what is normal in a salons no longer exist. The only normalcy is there is no norm. We have to continuously learn ways to protect ourselves and protect our clients. The struggle is real and there is no one that is exempt.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Once you invite an immunocompromised client into your facility, you have put them in harms way. Not knowingly however,

your air is filled with germs and bacteria lingering from services and/or clients.

your stations, your bathrooms, or chairs etc. are constant breeding grounds for bacteria

your own health is at risk with every client which walks into your facility[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]

Yes, our course is Oncology care in the pedicure room. Our curriculum is more.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]Keep our Beauty community safe. Keep our clients safe. Learn the specifics, the current do’s and don’ts, the need to know NOW on proper care of ALL clients in your pedicure and/or nail chair.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]Check out our education page for updates on what is coming next. Due to the new variants we are experiencing, Centre For Beauty will be scheduling zoom classes on many of our courses. Updates will be posted soon.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”2087″ title=”CJ Murray, President”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
