Do You Feel Full-filled?

“Do I feel fulfilled?” It’s a question I recently started thinking about as I finally get some much needed time away from traveling and trade shows.

As I ponder this past year and all the work myself and my team put into trade shows…I realize it isn’t about the monies made or lost….it’s about feeling good about what I do and feeling full-filled.

In the fast-paced world of business and beauty, it’s easy to stay focused on goals, numbers, and daily responsibilities. We strive to grow, to serve, to succeed. But in the midst of that constant motion, one powerful question often goes unasked:

Do you feel fulfilled?

The older I get I understand what all my older friends have told me for years….”life moves quickly, after you reach a certain age”.  In reality, life moves quickly regardless of what age.

Between work, family, and endless to-do lists, it’s easy to get caught up in the routine without stopping to consider whether the path we’re on truly brings us joy and purpose.

However, fulfillment isn’t something that just happens. It’s something we intentionally cultivate.

Fulfillment looks different for everyone. For some, it’s the satisfaction of making a difference in others’ lives. For others, it’s financial security, creative expression, or the ability to spend quality time with loved ones. No matter how you define it, fulfillment is deeply personal.

Think about it though…fulfillment is a crucial part of our well-being.  If we don’t feel full-filled…what do we have?

How do you know if you’re fulfilled? Here are a few reflective questions for you to think about and answer “honestly”

  • Do you wake up excited for your day, or do you dread it?
  • Are you energized by your work, or simply enduring it?
  • When you accomplish something, does it feel meaningful, or just like checking a box?
  • Do you feel your efforts make a difference, or do they leave you feeling empty?
  • Are you living according to your values, or someone else’s expectations?
  • Are you growing both professionally and personally, or are you stuck in routine?
  • Do your daily actions align with your long-term purpose and values?
  • Do your relationships support your growth, or do they drain you?

Taking time to sit with these questions can be uncomfortable, but it’s the first step to change, if needed.

If the answer is “no” or “I’m not sure,” look at it as an opportunity. It’s never too late to shift your focus, set new goals, or embrace new habits that lead you toward the life you truly want.  When I say never too late, I mean it. There is never a bad time to start over and reach for the stars. Living miserable or unhappy for 40 years is the same as living miserable and unhappy for 1 year….it’s just miserable!

Fulfillment isn’t a destination; it’s a journey. It’s about progress, not perfection. Fulfillment goes beyond achievement. It’s the quiet satisfaction that comes from knowing your work, your purpose, and your life are in alignment. It’s that deep sense of meaning that reminds you why you started your journey in the first place.

Many of us measure success by how busy we are, how many clients we serve, or how much revenue we generate. Yet true success—lasting, soul-centered success—comes when what you do every day reflects who you are at your core.

Regularly check in with yourself, you can align your choices with what matters most and create a life that feels rich and meaningful.

So, let me ask again: Do you feel fulfilled?

Fulfillment doesn’t arrive overnight, nor does it depend on perfection. It’s built through awareness, balance, and intentional choices. Sometimes it requires stepping back, reevaluating your direction, or even letting go of what no longer serves you.

If you find that fulfillment feels distant right now, that’s okay. Awareness is the first step toward change. You have the ability to redefine what fulfillment means for you—whether it’s creating more time for self-care, deepening your education, or reconnecting with the passion that first brought you into this industry.

Remember: success may build your career, but fulfillment sustains your spirit.

So, ask yourself one more time and ask yourself often…
Do you feel fulfilled?  If not, what can you do—today—to change that?
